Installing kubectl

Kubectl is a command line tool for Kubernetes. We will use it to run containers, inspect state, view logs and scale application.

On MacOS

With homebew

brew install kubernetes-cli

From Binaries

curl -LO https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/$(curl -s https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/stable.txt)/bin/darwin/amd64/kubectl
chmod +x ./kubectl
sudo mv ./kubectl /usr/local/bin/kubectl

On Linux

CentOS & RHEL

[kubernetes]
name=Kubernetes

sudo apt-get install -y kubectl
